Simple Exercises to Stay Fit

Introduction

Let's face it: We live in a busy society. We find ourselves not having enough time to do all the things that we need or want to do. One of those things is exercising so that we can stay in shape. However, that should be no problem, for you can stay in shape if only you would follow the principle of "KISS": Keep It Simple, Stupid!

Do Push-ups

You need to adhere to doing simple, non-time consuming exercises everyday that don't involve equipment. An example would be push-ups. How much time does it require for you to perform a set or two push-ups a day? Not much. You can do a set of push-ups after you wake up in the morning. You can do another set of push-ups after you have breakfast. You can do a third set of push-ups after you have lunch at or away from the office. And you can do a final set of push-ups after you return home after you have had dinner. That's exactly what I do just about every single day, and, mind you, it doesn't take more than 5 minutes a day to perform my entire sets for the day. Nor does it require any equipment. You are your own equipment. You take it wherever you go.

Walk

On the aerobic side, you can perform another natural and simple exercise--walking. This exercise doesn't require any equipment or investment of time. You don't need a treadmill or a stair climber. All you have to do, in the words of my mother, is to "put your foot on the road". Start walking. You can make it a habit to walk more and ride less. You can leave home a little bit earlier than usual so that you can give yourself time to walk to work if it is near, to your car, to the bus stop or to the train station just before you go to work in the morning. Also, instead of using your entire lunch break to sit and feed your face, you can devote 50 to 75% of it to go for a walk within, around, or near to the area you work in. Also, after you leave work--provided you are not completely worn out, you can walk to your car, to the bus stop, to the train, or, if you don't live too far, home.

Not only that: You should also do some climbing. That is to say that you should make it a point to walk up a flight stairs instead of taking the escalator or elevator. And if you should have a choice of taking a flat surface or a hill or ramp, "head for the hills" and the ramp instead. By doing this, you won't ever have to join a YMCA or health club so that you can use the stair climber or tread mill.  On the contrary, you can use the natural hills that Nature created or the ramps that humans made.

Conclusion

By doing those simple two exercises, you will never have to go a single day without getting some anaerobes and aerobics into your busy day. So again, "Keep it simple, stupid".
