In this article I discuss two additional ways to raise money for investing. They are using OPM (i.e. using other people's money and partnering with a friend, family member or business associate.

Robert Allen stated in one of his books on raising creative financial capital, "If you don't have it, somebody else does". He was telling us that we need to learn make use of other people's resources (OPR). That means that if you don't have any money to put towards an investment, you should seek out others who do. An investment might require that put up only $100. That may not seem like much to most of us. Yet if you find yourself unemployed at that time without any saving and that your last penny is being used just to survive, $100 is a lot of money. So what do you do? Answer: You seek out others who might be willing to loan you the $100 you need to invest in a given opportunity. Perhaps you will be able to borrow it from your parents, from a close friend or a business partner who believes that the opportunity is worthwhile and that s/he might get a cut of the spoils when it does roll in. So using other people's money is one means of raising money for investing.

The other way of raising capital for investing that I will focus on in this article is by partnering up with a friend, family, or a business partner as well. In this case, in contrast to the prior one, you and your partner are both putting up money to invest. In the first instance, you put up no money. Others put it up for you. In this instance, again, you and your partner are both raising money to invest in a business opportunity. Perhaps you might both contribute 50% of the required investment amount. Perhaps one will contribute more and the other will contribute less-you put up 25% and your partner puts up 75% of amount of money needed to participate in a business opportunity. However, you do it you both share the financial obligation of raising funds to use to join in an investment opportunity.

These are just two more ways for you to raise money for investing-using other people's money (OPM) and partnering with others.
